A mystery man is now £300,000 better off after winning big on the National Lottery.

The player - known only as Mr S - picked up the top prize on the Triple Cashword Yellow Instant Win Game.

Little is known about him other than that he lives in Stoke-on-Trent and loves animals.

He is now planning on buying a new home and will also give a significant donation to a local dogs home.

Camelot’s Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: "Huge congratulations to Mr S for winning this fantastic prize. As well as his own new home, what a difference he will be able to make to the local dogs home.”

The Stoke-on-Trent resident, who played online on the National Lottery app, was one of eight million players that win each week on The National Lottery’s range of games.

Interactive winners have the opportunity to release their name, remain anonymous or like this winner, release some details through partial publicity.
