Mystery woman known only as 'Miss C' wins £100,000 and spends it on braces and a barbecue

A Liverpool woman has won big after scooping the top prize of an instant win lottery game.

The lucky winner, known only as Miss C, played the instant win game 'Monopoly Gold Classic' on the National Lottery app.

The game costs £2.50 to play and offers a 1 in 2.28 overall chance of winning a prize and in this instance gave one Liverpool resident £100,000.

'Miss C' joins a host of Liverpool winners this year who have been lucky enough to win with the National Lottery.

And she has already purchased a new barbecue and some braces to straighten up her smile, using her winnings.

She also plans to use the money to pay off her mortgage.

Interactive winners are given the opportunity to remain anonymous, release their names or to reveal just some details.

The Liverpool winner took up the opportunity to release some details through partial publicity.

Camelot’s Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said: “Huge congratulations to Miss C for winning this fantastic prize.

"After a few simple taps, she can now look forward to lots of tasty treats on her brand new barbecue.”

Using the National Lottery app, players can buy tickets for all of The National Lottery’s draw-based games including Set For Life, Lotto, EuroMillions and Thunderball.

Players who go online via the website or app can have their ticket checked, and receive an email notification if they have won a prize.

Players can check their tickets online here or via the National Lottery app by scanning their retail tickets to check if they're a winner.
